That quote from Karen Budd shows why mathematicians should never use economics analogies to explain education.

OF COURSE, both facts and connections to the world are important parts of learning! Anyone who has ever learned anything should know that directly. It's just translating it to school that is the problem.

I bet your workshops, Karen, give parents the experience of learning important content in the context of a real-world project. So do you preach about it at the end? Maybe it would be a good idea. :)
