My hat goes off to you Karen Cole for this letter! It is not only being seen in Texas but I am sure in every single state in the U.S.

We had many children removed from a working Basic Skills Program all because they passed, some just barely, our State Standardized Test last spring. How are these kids doing in the classroom? Do I really need to tell you? As a special ed so-called inclusion teacher, I find myself working with these children more than the special ed children I am assigned to.

Yet, our District has yet to see the errors of their ways. Perhaps, when they see these same scores will actually be lower this year, it will provide a wake-up call! But at what expense - at the expense of a wasted year in the life of a child who at this age should be absorbing all education they can!
